Joseph Hancock is a co-founder of Five Star Advisor Partners, L.L.C. where he has applied his years of experience and helped countless individuals and business achieve their objectives.
Joseph became licensed to serve clients as a registered representative with HD Vest (which later became Avantax Wealth Management) in 1992 until 2021. During that 29-year period of time, Joseph built a reputation as a highly respected industry professional. Joseph held Series 7, 6, 24, 65 and 63 licenses.
During his time with HD Vest and Avantax, Joseph played a key role in the professional development of many financial services professionals by acting as a Chapter Director for New England and Texas. Joseph also attended every National Conference where he influenced countless other financial professionals.
Before starting his practice, Joseph Founded and was President of Graphael, Inc., an object-oriented database company. Prior to that, he was Sales Manager at Texas Instruments and Owner / Proprietor of four Computerland stores in Indiana.
Joseph earned the prestigious Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and served five (5) years on the Board of Directors for the Enrolled Agents National Organization NAEA. He is an active member of the NAEA Large Tax Practice Retreat Group as well as past Co-Chairman for the 1999 retreat in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is also a Fellow with the NAEA National Tax Practice Institute.
Joseph was featured in the December 2000 issue of Accounting Technology magazine. The article highlighted Joseph’s pioneering adoption of Web-based videoconferencing technology to meet with over 400 clients remotely during the 2001 tax season. Joseph was also featured on the cover of the December 2002 issue of Practical Accounting Magazine.
Growing up in Indiana, Joseph’s dream was to attend Purdue University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
